Charity Success

The championship was not only about competition but also about giving back. It successfully raised more than £2,000 for the Rotary Benevolent Fund, supporting a range of local charities.

Support and Sponsorship

The event was sponsored by Stephen Rimmer Solicitors and supported by other generous local businesses, including Eastbourne Motoring Centre, Mr Cherry Picker, Metro Bank, LMDB Accountants, the Lansdowne Hotel, and the Art House. The Rotary Club also thanked the Sea Cadets, Defiant Sports, and Kinship for their help in re-setting the skittles during matches.

Organisers’ Comments

Rotarian Ian Huke said:
“It was another fantastic week. Not only was the weather kind to us, but the grounds were incredibly well prepared. The sports club staff were extremely helpful and supportive throughout; the hot dogs were delicious! The teams said how much they had enjoyed themselves and that they were looking forward to being back with us.”

He added:
“Best of all, we raised a considerable sum of money which will benefit local charities. What a week – skittles are now a firm summertime favourite in Eastbourne.”
